Demystifying IDFC Credit Card Payment: A Comprehensive Guide

IDFC Bank is among the fastest-growing bank in India. Out of the different financial services it provides, one of the offerings is its credit cards. IDFC Bank allows its credit cardholders to make timely bill payments on their credit cards. Greater rewards mean greater responsibilities. Hence, cardholders should always consider making timely bill payments to their credit cards. The payment process is hassle-free, which makes the process easier and avoids late fees and any interest charges. There are many different payment modes available, which will further be discussed in detail in this article. Let’s go ahead with the same.

Can one Credit Card be used to pay off another?

When one has multiple credit cards in hand, the common question that arises is, can the credit card dues be managed by paying off the bill of one credit card using another credit card? Though most of the credit card issuer banks allow to do so, there are some limitations as well:

  • The card dues cannot be paid off by the same issuer. Hence, an IDFC credit card cannot be used to pay the credit card bills of another IDFC credit card.
  • The applicable credit card transaction fee is 2% to 4%, which is quite expensive.
  • To curb debt swapping, the banks restrict these payments to 30% to 50% of the total credit card limit.

Different Modes of IDFC Credit Card Bill Payment

Mentioned below are the different modes to make IDFC Credit CardPayment:

  1. Via Internet Banking
  2. In the case of account holders
  • Internet banking services can be accessed on computers, laptops, or mobile devices.
  • Using credentials, log in to Internet banking.
  • Click the tab “Credit Cards”.
  • Register your card and select the card to make the bill payment.
  • Now click “Pay Your Credit Card Bill”.
  • Enter the desired amount to be paid.
  • Click “Confirm” to make the bill payment.

In the case of non-account holders

  • Log in to the internet banking using username and password.
  • Provide the details of your credit card.
  • Transfer the funds from the savings bank account to make the bill payment transaction successful.

Through NEFT

  • Log in to the internet banking account.
  • Click the tab “Funds Transfer”.
  • Select the option “NEFT”.
  • Now, click on “Add Beneficiary”.
  • Enter your name as mentioned on the card, credit card number, name of the bank and IFSC code.
  • Click on “Confirm” and proceed to make the payment.
  •  Enter the amount to be paid.
  • Select the bank account from which the amount is to be debited.
  • Provide “Remarks”.
  • An OTP will then be received on the registered mobile number, which is then to be entered.
  • Click on “Submit” to make the card payment.

Via IMPS

  • Log into the bank website or mobile app.
  • Choose the option “Funds Transfer”.
  • Then press the tab “IMPS”.
  • Now, enter the amount to be paid and the bank account from which you have to make the payment.
  • Provide “Remarks”.
  • An OTP will then be received on the registered mobile number, which is then to be entered.
  • Click on “Submit” to make the card payment.

Via BHIM or Google Pay UPI

  • Log in to the mobile app of Google Pay or Bhim UPI.
  • Go to the UPI section.
  • Click on “Send Money”.
  • Provide a unique ID, like a 16-digit credit card number.

Via Mobile Banking

  • Download the IDFC First Mobile app from Google Play Store (in case of Android Users) and App Store (In case of IOS Users).
  • Login using your credentials.
  • From the menu, select “Credit Card”.
  • Now, provide the credit card details to pay your credit card bill.

Through Cheque

  • Visit any nearest IDFC branch.
  • Drop the cheque in the drop box.
  • The cheque should be payable to IDFC Bank Card A/C.
  • It should also include the 16-digit numbers of the credit card.

Through Cash

  • Visit any nearest IDFC branch.
  • Make the credit card bill payment through cash.
  • Processing fees would also be charged.
  • An acknowledgement receipt will also be received after payment is made.

Types of IDFC Bank Credit Card Application Status 

Mentioned below are the different types of IDFC Credit Card Application Status:

  • In Progress – This status is reflected when the IDFC Bank credit card application is under the bank’s review, and the final decision is pending.
  • On Hold – This status is reflected when more information is required to evaluate the application for the IDFC Bank credit card. This result is shown when there are discrepancies in the information.
  • Approved – This status is reflected when the bank approves the IDFC Bank credit card application and the bank starts the process of dispatching it.
  • Dispatched – This status is reflected when the credit card has been sent to the registered address via courier. Also, one can track the shipment, which can help to estimate the delivery date.
  • Rejected – This status is reflected when the bank does not approve the credit card application during the review.
  • No Records Found – This status, ‘No record found,’ is reflected when the information you entered is incorrect. In that case, refresh the page and enter the correct details.
